Turning Point receives official Premier Accredited Center Display

It’s Official!  Turning Point has received its Premier Center Accreditation from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship.

Turning Point is now Oklahoma’s ONLY Premier Accredited Center.  TPR completed the last step in earning the designation with a challenging seven hour site visit on one of the coldest days in January.

Premier accreditation means the center follows nearly 900 pages of PATH standards on safety, training, equipment, facilities and care of horses.  Every session is conducted under the direct supervision of a PATH accredited instructor.  Every volunteer and every rider must complete a bevy of forms to insure safety and only specific, well-maintained equipment may be used.

Program Coordinator, Callie Bennett was part of the Accreditation team and she says: “We spent nearly two years preparing for this milestone and honestly we were thrilled and surprised to achieve a score of 98% in our first site visit ever.”  Bennett says the achievement was a team effort that caused Turning Point to examine every practice, every form and every helmet.  “It’s definitely made us a stronger program.”
